Kindness Like Confetti

To be completely honest, I am not sure how to process how I feel about what is going on in the world right now. I have many questions and no helpful answers, however, I do know that being kind has a profoundly positive effect on me.
There are a lot of people just like us, who feel that kindness is the world’s greatest human act. It begins when we understand that we all struggle, we all at some point in time feel overwhelmed or undervalued. It is a human condition. However, another far more useful human condition is our ability to be kind.
There is substantial scientific evidence that proves the positive effects of doing kind acts for others. The act of kindness releases a range of feel-good hormones in our body. It has another major benefit to us in that it has a ripple effect, the effect is sometimes contagious because people on the receiving end often end up paying the consideration forward.
I’m sure you will agree that unexpected kindness is the most powerful underrated human act. Imagine the positive impact on the world if we just made one intentional random act of kindness per day, just imagine.
In my quest to make sense of the world right now, positive acts are the simplest tool I can use to create certainty. Our lives are full of situations where we can be caring and friendly. Have you seen how a word of praise puts a twinkle in a co-worker eye or how a stranger reacts to a smile? A gentle touch or a helping hand brings hope to people. It represents an unconditional, unrestricted form of love that is free to give and is heartwarming.
An unconscious act of connecting with someone in a positive way without judging them is a sure way for all living beings to thrive. Wouldn’t it be a great initiative if we all started to throw kindness around like confetti?
Kindness creates more kindness and slowly increases the positive energy around us. Let’s weave the thread of kind-heartedness into our everyday life and be the person who makes other people feel included.
Being fully present in our lives as we share acts of compassion increases our awareness of people and living things around us. It supports how we engage with the world, and in some small way we help make the world a better place.
Sending you kind thoughts, right now
